While competing in the first round of the 2024 Australian Open, Sumit Nagal of India emerged victorious over Alexander Bublik.

 Nagal, ranked 139th in the world in singles, secured his spot in the main draw of the Australian Open by winning the qualifiers.

During the second set, Nagal's performance was exceptional, and he established a 2-0 lead over his opponent.

Previously, Nagal has advanced to the main draw of the singles competition at the US Open in both 2019 and 2020, as well as in 2021.
