Sri Lanka's middle order led by Charith Asalanka secured a second consecutive total of over 300 runs, securing a decisive 155-run victory in the second One Day International (ODI) match in Pallekele.

Afghanistan's pursuit collapsed, resulting in their loss of the three-match series with one game remaining.

Afghanistan's strategy of pursuing substantial scores by prolonging the game was evident from the beginning.

Asitha Fernando successfully executed a stranglehold on Ibrahim's leg, leading to a deteriorating Afghan innings.

Wanindu Hasaranga took four wickets for 27 runs, while Asitha and Dilshan Madushanka each took two wickets. Pramod Madushan also completed one goal.

Asalanka, Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama Janith Liyanage, and Omarzai contributed to Sri Lanka's total of 96 runs in the final ten overs.

Omarzai demonstrated exceptional performance among the Afghan bowlers, achieving figures of 3 for 56.

Afghanistan's performance in the death overs was not advantageous, as they failed to capitalize on opportunities by dropping both Asalanka and Hasaranga.
