The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres 14-1 in their first spring training game of 2024.

The Dodgers, who spent $1.2 billion to address weaknesses, managed to score many runs in the first inning of the 2024 season.

The game was a preview for the regular season's opening series in Seoul, South Korea, on March 20–21.

The Dodgers acquired Shohei Ohtani for $700 million and Yoshinobu Yamamoto for $325 million after securing their 10th NL West title in 11 seasons

Ohtani will not participate in Thursday's opening game as he is still recovering from surgery last season.

On the other hand, he anticipates that he will have approximately fifty opportunities to bat during the spring training season.

Shohei Ohtani hit a home run during the Dodgers' first live batting practice. Ohtani was the first player to show up for the Dodgers.

In the first game of spring training, the Los Angeles Dodgers made a splash by hanging a snowman on the San Diego Padres with a fastball.
