Renata Jamrichova, the highest-ranked player, won the Australian Open junior girls' singles championship by defeating Emerson Jones.

 Jamrichova served six aces and defended five out of six break points, securing her first Grand Slam singles' championship.

The 16-year-old Slovakian won the Melbourne Park junior doubles title and reached Wimbledon and U.S. Open semifinals last year.

Over the course of the Australian Open, Renata Jamrichova and Rei Sakamoto emerged victorious in the junior title.

 Jones narrowly missed the opportunity to become the first Australian in nearly thirty years to win the Australian Open girls' singles championship.

Jones aspires to become an Australian woman's fifth Grand Slam singles champion in 30 years and the first since 1995's Siobhan Drake-Brockman.
