Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Arichalmunai, the southernmost point of Tamil Nadu, to establish a connection with the Ramayana.

Modi also visited Dhanushkodi, where Bhagwan Ram made a promise to vanquish Ravana.

 He spent the night in Rameswaram, where he visited Arichalmunai, believed to be where Ram Setu was constructed.

 The visit coincides with the imminent consecration of the recently built Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, set to take place on January 22.

 The Prime Minister and several dignitaries will attend the 'Pran Pratishtha' event for Shri Ram Lalla on January 22.

 The Congress declined the invitation to attend the 'Pran Pratistha' ceremony of Lord Ram Lalla.
