Salesforce, a tech giant, is implementing workforce reductions, affecting approximately 700 employees across the company.

The layoffs are part of a larger trend in the tech sector, following Google, Twitch, and Amazon's downsizing in 2023.

Salesforce plans to decrease its workforce size starting in 2024, becoming the fourth major technology company to do so.

Salesforce's downsizing mirrors a previous decision made twelve months ago, where the company downsized its workforce by 10%, resulting in the termination of approximately 8,000 employees.

The downsizing follows Microsoft's decision to lay off 1,900 employees in its video-game divisions, including Activision Blizzard.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff emphasized the importance of safety protocols and trust principles in the technology industry to prevent catastrophic events like the Hiroshima bombing.

Salesforce has sacked 700 employees, joining Microsoft's tech layoff wave, which saw 1,900 employees in its video-game divisions, including Activision Blizzard.
