Artemi Panarin of the New York Rangers scored the winning goal during the overtime period of an NHL Stadium Series hockey game against the New York Islanders in East Rutherford, N.J.

The Rangers have won six consecutive games and currently hold a four-point advantage over the Carolina Hurricanes in the Metro Division standings.

The Islanders are currently five points behind a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, putting them in a dire situation.

The Rangers are undefeated in outdoor games, holding a 4-0 record. They have the opportunity to make history by becoming the first team in the league to win five outdoor games.

The Islanders' first outdoor game was a 2-1 loss to the Rangers at Yankee Stadium on January 29, 2014.

The Rangers had a disappointing beginning to the third period, with Alexander Romanov accidentally striking Ryan Lindgren in the face, causing Lindgren to be injured on the ice.

With one minute and thirty-six seconds remaining in the second period, Trocheck scores, bringing the Islanders' lead down to 4-3.

The Rangers had a significant portion of that period dedicated to defending, but managed to execute a powerful offensive sequence towards the end.

The Isles recently scored three goals in three minutes and 14 seconds, with Brock Nelson, Bo Horvat, and Mat Barzal scoring.
