Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024 in Parliament, a temporary financial plan.

The budget is the sixth installment of the Union Budget, which was presented prior to the elections for the Lok Sabha.

The budget aims to allocate funds in advance to cover the government's expenses for the first four months of the upcoming fiscal year.

The session of Parliament began with President Droupadi Murmu's speech at the joint session of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.

Today, in anticipation of the interim budget, the stock markets started trading with gains than they had anticipated.

Sitharaman stressed the NDA government's inclusive approach and focus on the underprivileged, women, youth, and farmers.

The government will continue to pursue fiscal consolidation to decrease the fiscal deficit to 4.5% by 2025–26.

Sitharaman stated that the government has successfully resolved the economic crisis in 2014 and is now experiencing significant and consistent growth.
