• Devdutt Padikkal, a 23-year-old batsman from Karnataka, was selected for the third match of the 5-Test series against England by the Test squad.

Padikkal played a pivotal role in assisting Karnataka in securing vital points in the Ranji Trophy match between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

He scored 151 runs in the first inning and 36 runs in the second inning, maintaining his impressive performance in red-ball cricket.

Padikkal acknowledged and expressed gratitude for the unwavering support that he continued to receive from his family and other supporters.

• He recently scored a century and fifty runs for India A against the England Lions in Ahmedabad and against Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy.

Despite making his T20I debut in July, Padikkal's poor health hindered his IPL performances and hindered his success as a middle-order batsman.

His struggle with the illness was evident in his performance during the Ranji Trophy, where he could only accumulate 260 runs in seven innings.

Haryana's score of 319/8 is a result of the tons that Sehwag and Yadav have scored as the Ranji Trophy draws to a close.

What is Padikkal's level of capability when it comes to playing the role of Rahul in India's match against England?

During the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season, Devdutt Padikkal is hoping to recover by "maintaining his composure through the highs and lows."
