Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, known for his roles in Star Trek and Captain Marvel, passed away at the age of 49 due to complications from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Mitchell was a renowned actor known for his roles in Star Trek: Discovery and other films and TV shows. 

ALS is a neurological disorder that impacts nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to a gradual decline in muscle coordination. 

Mitchell's family confirmed his death on Instagram, expressing his gratitude for the support and love he received from friends, family, carers, and doctors. 

Despite the challenges, Mitchell displayed exceptional grace, dedication, and resilience, embracing each moment with a sense of fulfilment and happiness. 

His family praised his resilience in facing his illness, stating that he found a greater purpose in being authentic for his children. 

Mitchell was known for his hope-seeking, daydreaming, and dream believer, and his wife, Susan, and their two young children survive him
