"Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" have received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards, marking a significant event leading up to the Academy Awards.

The films competed in a "Barbenheimer" event last summer, with the winners competing for the best movie cast award.

Margot Robbie, known for her role in "Barbie," has been nominated for the Best Movie Actress award, competing against Emma Stone from "Poor Things" and Lily Gladstone from "Killers of the Flower Moon."

Cillian Murphy, who plays J Robert Oppenheimer, the atomic bomb scientist, received the best actor award.

The SAG awards are highly anticipated as actors constitute the largest voting bloc for the Oscars, the preeminent accolades in the film industry.

The 2024 SAG Awards will be presented during a red-carpet ceremony in Los Angeles on February 24, live-streamed on Netflix.

The films also received nominations for "Oppenheimer," "Succession," and "The Bear," acknowledging outstanding performances in both film and television.

Notable omissions from the film nominations include Charles Melton, Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, Greta Lee, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
