Thousands of customers across the United States have reported a nationwide AT&T mobile service outage, affecting the majority of major carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. According to Downdetecto, wireless service providers in the United States are currently experiencing technical difficulties on Thursday morning. Down Detector’s website received complaints from AT&T, Cricket, Verizon, and T-Mobile customers that their service was unavailable. FirstNet, a service provided by AT&T to first responders, is among the affected services.

Cricket and Straight Talk are examples of smaller Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) that rely on service from AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. At 3:18 am Eastern Time, DownDetector received complaints from eleven AT&T subscribers, and by 4:33 am, the total number of complaints had risen to over 32,000 persons. 56% of the complaints were related to issues with mobile phone service; 35% reported being unable to receive a signal; and 8% of the subscribers were unable to access the mobile internet.

T-Mobile subscribers reported that 44% of them were unable to receive a signal from DownDetector, and 31% were unable to access their 5G home internet service. T-Mobile was responsible for power outages in several cities, including Los Angeles, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Chicago, New York City, Seattle, Philadelphia, Miami, and other cities.

Violine subscribers reported that 59% encountered difficulties when using their mobile phones, 21% reported being unable to obtain a signal, and 20% reported being unable to access their 5G home internet service. The following cities and towns reported problems with Verizon: Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, Spokane, and Atlanta.

AT&T is currently experiencing a nationwide outage, causing a significant number of people in the United States to wake up without being able to use their mobile phones. Reports from various police departments indicate that individuals who call 911 are having trouble getting through to the service. Callers are encouraged to connect to wifi by using settings that allow calls to be made in wifi mode.

According to Statista, in 2023, AT&T will be the most dominant mobile provider in the United States, holding a significant 46% share of the industry. Users of AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon experienced cellular outages on Thursday, as reported by Downdetector.com, a website dedicated to tracking outages.
